AI Design Lab for School Leaders

Schools are currently facing a growing challenge: AI use in classrooms is inconsistent, unclear, and creating uncertainty around instructional expectations.

Some teachers are overusing AI. Some are unsure how to use it instructionally. And school leaders are being asked to bring clarity—quickly—before the new school year begins.

About the Session

The AI Design Lab for School Leaders is a 30-day summer sprint that helps school leadership teams design clear, consistent expectations for AI use in instruction before the school year begins. Your school leadership team will:

  • Define clear, school-wide expectations for AI in instruction

  • Build a practical instructional framework teachers can actually use

  • Align leadership on what appropriate AI use looks like in classrooms

  • Prepare a ready-to-launch system for the start of the school year

This is not a traditional PD workshop. It is a guided design process where your school builds its own AI instructional system.

Your Team Will Walk Away With:

  • Clear expectations for AI use across all classrooms

  • Consistent instruction that protects student thinking

  • Confident leadership decisions around AI use

  • Reduced teacher confusion and pushback

  • Immediate, practical tools for teachers

  • A fully aligned start to the school year

By the end of the 30-day sprint, leadership teams will have:

  • AI Instructional Vision: A clear, shared definition of how AI should and should not be used in instruction.

  • School AI Playbook: A practical guide with:

    • Instructional expectations

    • Classroom examples

    • “Do / Don’t” guidance for teachers

  • Teacher Implementation Toolkit: Ready-to-use resources including:

    • Lesson planning templates

    • Student thinking-first checklists

    • Sample AI-integrated lesson models

  • Fall Launch Plan: A step-by-step rollout plan for introducing expectations to staff before or at the start of the school year

Why now?

AI is already in classrooms. The question is no longer if it will be used—but how consistently and intentionally it is guided across schools.

This lab helps leadership teams get ahead of that challenge before it becomes a year-long problem.
